Abstract

Dyes corresponding to general formula (I) are released imagewise from corresponding dye-releasers in the dye diffusion transfer process. They react with nickel ions to form lightfast, cyan dye-metal complexes having advantageous spectral properties: ##STR1## wherein Q represents the group required for completing an optionally substituted phenyl or naphthyl group; PA1 X represents --S--, --SO.sub.2 --, --SO.sub.2 --NR.degree.-- or --SO.sub.2 --O--; PA1 R.degree. represents H or alkyl; and PA1 R.sup.1 represents an aliphatic, araliphatic or a carbocyclic or heterocyclic aromatic group or, when X represents --SO.sub.2 --NR.degree.--, R.sup.1 represents hydrogen.
