Abstract

Fungicidally active substituted maleic acid amides of the formula ##STR1## in which X is hydrogen, chlorine or bromine, PA0 X.sup.1 is chlorine or bromine, PA0 R is alkyl, optionally substituted aryl or optionally substituted aralkyl, PA0 R.sup.1 to R.sup.5 each independently is hydrogen, alkyl, optionally substituted aryl or optionally substituted aralkyl, PA0 R.sup.6 each independently is halogen, alkyl, optionally substituted aryl, optionally substituted cycloalkyl, alkoxy, sulphonylamine, halogenoalkyl, nitro, cyano, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylsulphonyl or carboxylamine, PA0 n is 0, 1, 2 or 3, PA0 m is 0, 1, 2 or 3, PA0 m+n is 0, 1, 2 or 3, and PA0 y is 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5, PA0 with the exception of the compound in which PA1 X and X.sup.1 are chlorine, PA1 m and y are 0, PA1 n is 1, PA1 R.sup.1, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are hydrogen, and PA1 R is methyl, PA0 and the compound in which PA1 X and X.sup.1 are chlorine, PA1 m, n and y are 0, PA1 R.sup.1 is hydrogen, and PA1 R is phenyl.
