Abstract

A composition of matter comprising a blend of CPVC having a chlorine content of between about 60% and 66% by weight and a polymethylmethacrylate content of between about 0% and 80% by weight of the blend. The composition of matter displays substantially single, homogeneous phase behavior with the CPVC and polymethylmethacrylate being substantially or completely miscible. Blending of CPVC and polymethylmethacrylate provides a resulting blended polymeric material having enhanced temperature and durability properties. Melt processability of CPVC polymeric material may be enhanced by the inclusion of polymethylmethacrylate to form the blends.
