Abstract
A method of controlling the supply of fuel to an internal combustion engine, wherein the value of at least one operating parameter of the engine is detected in synchronism with generation of pulses of a control signal generated at predetermined crank angle positions of the engine, and fuel is supplied to the engine in a quantity responsive to the detected value of the at least one operating parameter. When the engine is determined to be operating in a predetermined condition accelerating from a predetermined low load condition thereof, the fuel supply quantity responsive to the detected value of the at least one operating parameter is corrected by the use of an accelerating fuel increment, to supply the corrected fuel quantity to the engine, substantially for a period of time from the time the determination that the engine is operating in the predetermined accelerating condition is obtained for the first time to the time the actual quantity of intake air supplied to the engine assumes a value required for the engine to produce output torque effective for acceleration thereof. The above accelerating fuel increment is set so as to decrease each time a pulse of the above control signa…
