Abstract

Processes and compositions are described for the use in foodstuff flavor and aroma and perfumes and perfumed articles aroma augmenting, modifying, altering and enhancing compositions and as foodstuff, chewing gum, toothpaste, medicinal product, perfumes and perfumed articles aroma imparting materials of tricyclic isochroman mixtures wherein in the mixtures each of the compounds is defined according to the structure: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 represent methyl or hydrogen with the proviso that when one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is methyl, the other of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 represents hydrogen. Addition of said tricyclic isochroman mixtures is indicated to produce: PA0 a. In food flavorings a sweet, musky aroma and taste; and PA0 b. In perfumes and perfumed articles and colognes a sweet, musk aroma.
