Abstract

The invention relates to water-dispersible binders for cationic electro-dip paints with a base of modified epoxy resins. The binders are produced by reaction of PA1 (A) epoxy resins having a molecular weight of at least 350 with PA1 (B) elasticized polyphenols having a molecular weight of over 350 with addition to the epoxide groups and further reaction of the reaction product of (A) and (B) with PA1 (C) primary and/or secondary amines or ammonium salts to obtain the required water-dispersibility.
