Abstract
The digital hopped frequency, time diversity system comprises a first arrangement to provide a binary bit stream having a plurality of groups each having N bits with each of the plurality of N bit being repeated on at least M different frequencies, where N and M are integers greater than one. Each of the bits of the plurality of groups of N bits is a selected one of a mark and a space with the mark being represented by at least a first frequency and the space being representate by at least a second frequency different than the first frequency. A second arrangement recovers an envelope of a selected one of the first and second frequencies for each bit of the plurality of groups of N bits in each of the M repetitions and converts the recovered mark and space envelopes to a binary representation of the amplitude thereof. A third arrangement adds the binary representation of at least a first predetermined number of the recovered mark envelopes representing an associated one of the bits of the plurality of groups of N bits in each of the M repetitions.
