Abstract
A cylinder-head gasket has a sheet formed of a rigid organic and substantially nonthermoplastic material such as phenylene polysulfide that does not soften at engine-operating temperatures of 130.degree. C.-150.degree. C. The sheet has a plurality of gas-passage holes and liquid-passage holes. Respective elastomeric seals are secured to the edges of the liquid-passage holes and respective metallic seal rings are secured to the edges of the gas-passage holes.
