Abstract
A process for the production by power metallurgy of a material based on an aluminum alloy, a solid lubricant and at least one ceramic is disclosed. The process is characterized by using a ceramic in powder form with a granulometry of between 1 and 10 .mu.m. This invention finds application in the manufacture of components which are subjected to friction, in particular under hot condition, such as engine liners. These components provide an optimum compromise coefficient of friction and resistance to seizure and wear.
