Novel substituted 5-cycloalkyl-2,2-dimethyl-pentan-3-ones of the formula ##STR1## in which R is optionally substituted cycloalkyl, PA1 X is halogen and PA1 Y is hydrogen or halogen, The new compounds are valuable intermediates for the synthesis of substances having plant growth-regulating and fungicidal properties.
