Abstract

The invention relates to new substituted pyrrolidinones of general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a phenyl group which may be mono- or di-substituted by methyl, methoxy, fluorine, chlorine, bromine or trifluoromethyl, or a pyridyl group; PA0 R.sub.2 represents hydrogen or a straight-chained or branched alkyl group with 1-4 carbon atoms; PA0 R.sub.3 represents a straight-chained or branched alkyl group with 1-3 carbon atoms, a hydroxyalkyl group with 2-3 carbon atoms, a phenyl group which can be mono- or di-substituted by chlorine, bromine, methyl or methoxy, a cyclohexyl group or a dialkylamino alkyl group, where in each alkyl group can contain from 1-3 carbon atoms; PA0 R.sub.4 represents hydrogen or a straight-chained or branched alkyl group with 1-3 carbon atoms; or PA0 R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 together with the nitrogen atom represent a piperidine, morpholine or piperazine ring, while the ring may be substituted by 1 or 2 methyl groups and the piperazine ring at the nitrogen atom in 4-position may also carry a phenyl, chlorophenyl or benzyl group, or they may represent the nortropanyl group, processes for preparing them and pharmaceutical compositions.
