Abstract

An active site peptide which blocks immune complex binding to Fc receptors, the peptide having an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of: EQU A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P, or a subgroup thereof, wherein PA0 A is Arg, Lys, Orn, Gln, or His; PA0 B is Ser, Thr, Ala, or Gly; PA0 C is Thr, Ser, Ala, or Gly; PA0 D is Thr, Ser, Ala, or Gly; PA0 E is Lys, Arg, Orn or His; PA0 F is Thr, Ser, Ala, or Gly; PA0 G is Ser, Thr, Ala, or Gly; PA0 H is Gly, Ala, Thr, Ser, Lys, Arg, or Orn PA0 I is Pro, Val, Leu, Ile, or Ala; PA0 J is Arg, Lys, Orn, or His; PA0 K is Ala, Thr, Ser, or Gly; PA0 L is Ala, Thr, Ser, or Gly; PA0 M is Pro, Val, Leu, Ile, or Ala; PA0 N is Glu, or Asp; PA0 O is Val, Leu, Ile, or Ala; PA0 P is Tyr, or Phe. and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
