Abstract

A method and composition useful for the alleviation of pain symptoms associated with malignant neoplasia and acquired immune deficiency syndrome by once daily administration of a substance (such as human chorionic gonadotropin) characteristic of the tumor or acquired immune deficiency syndrome-afflicted cell in an amount less that the lowest amount necessary to provoke a humoral immune response, as exemplified by the existence of a negative wheal upon subcutaneous administration.
