Abstract
Cyclopenta[b]thiophenes of the following formulae (I) and (II): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.4 are H or alkyl and R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.5 and PA0 R.sup.6 are alkyl, as well their salts, are anti-inflammatory agents having pharmacological profiles similar to that of steroids. Also part of the invention are pharmaceutical compositions and methods for the pharmaceutical treatment of mammals such as man.
