Abstract

5-Halogenoalkyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yloxyacetamides of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is halogenoalkyl, with the exception of trifluoromethyl, and PA0 R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each independently is hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, in each case optionally substituted cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl, halogenoalkyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkoxyalkylenoxy, alkoxy, aralkyl or optionally substituted aryl, or PA0 R.sup.2 and R.sup.3, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded, form an optionally substituted heterocyclic radical which can contain further hetero-atoms, which possess herbicidal and fungicidal activity. The intermediates 5-chlorodifluoromethyl- and 5-dichlorofluoromethyl-2-chloro-1,3,4-thiadiazole are also new.
