Abstract

A process is provided for coating an electrically conductive substrate with an aqueous coating composition containing a cationic binder wherein the binder is obtained by polymerization of 100 parts by weight of a specified monomer mixture in the presence of 1-45 parts by weight of a polymer built up to 70-100% by weight of 1,3-butadiene and 0-30% by weight of a copolymerizable monomer, having a number average molecular weight of 460-5400. The invention also pertains to the aqueous coating composition as such.
