Abstract

The invention concerns halo-biphenyl tertiary alcohols of the general formula: ##STR1## in which: X is chlorine or bromine in ortho or meta position. PA0 R and R.sub.1, which may be identical or different, represent an alkyl group of low molecular weight having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, inclusive. These new derivatives are useful as medicaments, particularly in the treatment of atherosclerosis and obesity.
