Abstract

Control serum containing (1) at least one compound of the formula: ##STR1## in which T is hydrogen or methyl, hydroxymethyl or methoxymethyl PA1 X is hydrogen hydroxymethyl or methyl when Y is hydroxyl, hydroxymethyl or NR.sub.2 ; PA1 Y is hydrogen, hydroxyl, hydroxylmethyl or NR.sub.2 and PA1 Z is hydroxyl or an --O--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 OH group when Y is hydrogen or hydroxymethyl, or Z is hydroxymethyl or a carboxyl derivative or PA1 T is ethyl or isopropyl, PA1 X is hydrogen, or methyl, hydroxymethyl or methoxy, PA1 Y is hydroxy, hydroxymethyl or NR.sub.2 and PA1 Z is a carboxyl derivative; each R independently is hydrogen or an alkyl group with 1 to 2 carbon atoms optionally containing a hydroxy group and/or (2) at least one compound of the formula EQU HO(CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --O).sub.n H, (II) in which n is an integer from 2 to 8, in an amount sufficient to reduce turbidities in reconstituted serum after previous lyophilization.
