Abstract

Completely aromatic polyesters which form a liquid-crystalline filament-forming melt at below 300.degree. C. and essentially consist of PA0 (a) from 3 to 15 mol % of units derived from hydroquinone, PA0 (b) from 5 to 35 mol % of units derived from 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene, PA0 (c) molar amounts, equivalent to the sum of (a) and (b), of units derived from terephthalic acid, and PA0 (d) from 10 to 70 mol % of units derived from p-hydroxybenzoic acid, and their preparation.
