Abstract

New 2,4,5,6-tetra-aminopyrimidine derivatives corresponding to the following general formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is a group of the formula --NH--(CH.sub.2).sub.n --NH--, where n=2-4, a group of the formula --NH--CH.sub.2 --CH(OH)--CH.sub.2 --NH-- or a group of the formula ##STR2## R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently of one another represent hydrogen, chlorine or a group of the formula --OR.sup.4 where R.sup.4 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group and A is a CH group or a nitrogen atom, and salts thereof. The compounds are suitable as developer components for oxidation hair dyes which, in conjunction with a number of standard coupler compounds, form a wide range of brilliant colors with high absorptive power on human hair and good fastness properties.
