Abstract
A frictional material is disclosed, which is characterized in that, with the metal-containing composite material infiltrated with metal into the pore portions of composite comprising carbon material reinforced with carbon fibers, the porosity of said composite is adjusted to 5 to 15 vol. % and a metal or an alloy with a melting point of 125.degree. to 1100.degree. C. is infiltrated in amounts of 3 to 10 vol. %.
