Abstract
In a light valve, comprising a cell containing a suspension of small anisometrically shaped particles suspended in an electrically resistive liquid suspending medium, said liquid suspending medium having a polymer dissolved therein and bonded to or associated with said particles, the improvement wherein said liquid suspending material comprises a liquid ester or ether of the formula EQU R.sup.1 --X--R.sup.2 wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are as defined herein and X is ##STR1##
