Abstract

A dispersion in a continuous phase or spherules comprises arranged molecular layers of a non-ionic lipid compound encapsulating an aqueous phase wherein the non-ionic lipid compound has a lipophile group/hydrophile group ratio such that the non-ionic lipid compound swells in the aqueous phase to be encapsulated therein so as to form a lamellar phase. The hydrophile group of the non-ionic compound is selected from the group consisting of polyoxyethylene groups, polyglycerol groups and esters of polyols. The spherules have a diameter between 1,000 .ANG. and 50,000 .ANG..
