Abstract
A silver halide photosensitive material for color photography which comprises a phenol type cyan coupler having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.3 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydroxy group, a nitro group, or a monovalent organic group; PA1 X.sup.1 ' is --SO.sub.2 R.sup.1 ', in which R.sup.1 ' is an alkyl group or an aryl group; PA1 Z is a hydrogen atom or a removable group upon coupling reaction with an oxidized product of a color developing agent; PA1 n is 0 to 3; and Ball is a ballast group; provided that Ball is not a non-substituted alkyl group.
