Abstract

A method of combating insects and acarids which comprises applying to such insects, acarids or a habitat thereof, an insecticidally or acaricidally effective amount of a 5-amino-1-aryl-pyrazole of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents hydrogen, alkyl or halogenoalkyl, PA0 R.sup.2 represents trifluoromethyl, PA0 R.sup.3 represents hydrogen, alkyl or alkenyl, PA0 R.sup.4 represents hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl or a ##STR2## radical, and Ar represents in each case optionally substituted phenyl or pyridyl, where X represents oxygen or sulphur, and R.sup.5 denotes alkyl or halogenoalkyl. Some of the compounds are new.
