Abstract
The invention relates to the use in pest control of thioxanthen-9-ylidenepiperidines of formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 alkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 alkynyl, cyano or --COR.sub.4, PA0 R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 independently of each other are hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl or nitro, PA0 R.sub.4 is ##STR2## C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl, ##STR3## or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxycarbonyl, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 independently of each other are hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy and PA0 R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 independently of each other are hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy or nitro, and of the salts thereof and to compositions containing compounds of formula I as active ingredient.
