Abstract
A method of breaking gelled viscosities of oil-based gelled fracturing fluids used in low temperature formations having operating temperatures ranging between about 60.degree.-120.degree. F. which comprises treating said oil-based gelled fracturing fluids with an effective amount of a chemical breaker consisting essentially of an effective admixture of hydrated lime and sodium bicarbonate.
