Abstract
The improvement of strength and hardness of steel powders can be realized under good compressibility by alloying 0.2.about.2.0 wt. % of W and 0.8.about.3.0 wt. % of Ni, and further 0.1.about.1.0 wt. % of Mo or 0.2.about.2.0 wt. % of Cu in steel powder, and further the reduction of dimensional deviation introduced by heat treatment after sintering can also be achieved. This substantially eliminates damaging the shape and size of the sintered body after heat treatment.
