Abstract

Complexes of the general formula I EQU [R.sup.1 (CH.sub.2).sub.m C(O)CR.sup.3 C(O)R.sup.2 ].sub.2+n MX.sub.2-n (I) wherein M denotes tin, titanium, zirconium or hafnium, R.sup.1 denotes hydrogen or a phenyl radical, it being possible for the phenyl radical to be monosubstituted or polysubstituted by fluorine, chlorine, bromine, nitro, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy or trifluoromethyl, R.sup.2 denotes methyl or R.sup.1, with the exception of hydrogen, R.sup.3 denotes hydrogen or chlorine, X denotes fluorine, chlorine or bromine, but not fluorine if M denotes zirconium or hafnium, m denotes the number 1 or 0, or, if R.sup.1 denotes hydrogen, the number 1 and n denotes the number 0, or, if M denotes zirconium or hafnium, the number 1 or 0, exhibit a cytostatic activity which is comparable to that of cisplatin and are less toxic than cisplatin. They are suitable for the produduction of medicaments having an anti-neoplastic action.
