Abstract
A valve assembly mounted in the head of an internal combustion engine. The valve is driven on the stem thereof in an arcuate motion so that the valve does not oscillate along its longitudinal axis, but instead swings slightly away from its longitudinal axis during each reciprocation. The valve is preferably driven not only downwardly, but also upwardly to permit a high rate of oscillation.
