Abstract
A process for improving the color quality of PPE or molding compounds containing PPE, comprising adding an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated ester of the formula: ##STR1## to the organic PPE solution prior to heating it to temperatures above 150.degree. C. R.sub.a and R.sub.b are independently H, CH.sub.3, COOR.sub.c, or Ph, and R.sub.c is a C.sub.1-10 alkyl group.
