Abstract
Process for the production of cycloalkanecarboxylic acids of general Formula I ##STR1## wherein n means the number 1 or 2, PA0 R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 are alkyl groups of 1-4 carbon atoms, and PA0 R.sub.2 and R.sub.4 symbolize hydrogen atoms or alkyl groups of 1-4 carbon atoms, characterized by reacting a compound of general Formula II EQU X--CR.sub.1 R.sub.2 --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --CH.sub.2 --CR.sub.3 R.sub.4 --X'(II), wherein PA0 n, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 have the meanings given above and PA0 X and X' mean a hydroxy group, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, an alkylsulfonyloxy residue, or an arylsulfonyloxy residue, PA0 with 1,1-dichloroethylene; splitting off hydrogen chloride from the thus-obtained compounds of general Formula III EQU X--CR.sub.1 R.sub.2 --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --CH.sub.2 --CR.sub.3 R.sub.4 --CH.sub.2 --CCl.sub.2 X (III), wherein n, X, X', R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 have the meanings given above; and cyclizing and hydrolyzing, by means of acids, the thus-prepared compounds of general Formula IV EQU X--CR.sub.1 R.sub.2 --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --CH.sub.2 --CR.sub.3 R.sub.4 --CY.dbd.CZX' (IV), wherein PA0 n, X, X', R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 have…
