Abstract
A method for forming an image, which comprises heating a light-sensitive material in the presence of a compound capable of forming a 2-mercaptobenzazole ring by a ring closing reaction when heated. In accordance with the method of the present invention, development is stopped at an appropriate time of development whereby an image having a high maximum density and low fog is obtained. A heat-developable light-sensitive material containing the compound is also disclosed.
