Abstract
The invention relates to novel fluoran compounds of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, each independently of the other, are lower alkyl; PA0 A is ##STR2## or a pyrrolidinyl, piperidino, morpholino or piperazino radical; and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4, each independently of the other, are C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenyl or phenyl substituted by lower alkyl or lower alkoxy. These compounds are particularly suitable for use as color formers in pressure-sensitive or heat-sensitive recording materials.
