Abstract
Disclosed is a pneumatic spreader for distributing materials stored in bulk supply in a hopper. The hopper includes an opening for discharging the materials into the upper portion of a chamber which includes a metering roller. A lower portion of the chamber is connected to a forced air supply and includes a distribution channel defining a plurality of flow paths. Nozzles receiving metered material are placed in the distribution panel, with one nozzle corresponding to a particular flow path. Material exits the nozzle immediately adjacent the flow path defined by the distribution panel. Forced air fluidizes the material as it enters the distribution panel in the desired direction of the flow path. Flexible tubing sections defining major portions of the flow panel are connected to the distribution panel. Ends of the flexible tubing sections remote from the distribution panel discharge the material. The free ends of the tubing sections are arranged along a boom to form a preselected pattern.
