Abstract
The invention relates to an aluminum alloy for thin metal sheets suitable for the production of can lids and bodies, and to a process for manufacturing such metal sheets. The alloy contains, in percent by weight: PA0 from 0.8 to 1.8 manganese PA0 from 1 to 2 silicon PA0 from 0.7 to 3 magnesium PA0 less than 0.7 iron PA0 less than 0.5 copper PA0 less than 0.5 chromium; and PA0 remainder aluminium.
