Abstract
Improved mouldability and surface smoothness is provided for moulded detergent compositions, for example bar soaps, containing from 30 to 70% by weight of a sodium C.sub.12 -C.sub.18 alkyl sulfate, from 5 to 25% by weight of a C.sub.12 -C.sub.18 fatty alcohol, from 5 to 25% by weight palmitic and/or stearic acid, optionally partially saponified, and from 1 to 30% by weight of an .alpha.-sulfofatty acid salt corresponding to the following formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a linear C.sub.9 -C.sub.21 alkyl group, A is an alkali metal, ammonium or alkanolammonium cation, and B is hydrogen or has one of the meanings of A.
