Abstract
A novel thermally-responsive record material is disclosed which is resistant to image fade from one or more common external challenges including contact with common fats or oils, skin oil, carbonless solvents, plasticizers or high heat and humidity, such as in a 90.degree.F./90% humidity test. The heat-sensitive material of the invention contains a fade resistance imparting ascorbic acid ester of the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 is hydrogen or a straight chain or branched chain acyl group of from 9 to 22 carbons inclusive, PA0 wherein R.sup.2 is a straight chain or branched chain alkyl group of from 8 to 21 carbons inclusive.
