Abstract
A satellite communication system is disclosed that would allow for communication between mobile and fixed terminals. The communications system includes a plurality of mobile users, a satellite in geosynchronous orbit for providing frequency addressable uplink and downlink signals to the mobile terminals, a base station for receiving siganls from and transmitting signals to the satellite and a plurality of fixed users coupled to the base station. The system provides the advantage of frequency reusability and frequency addressability in the uplink and downlink transmissions of the mobile users.
