Abstract
A slat for use in the assembly of a Venetian blind is provided with a light and sound absorptive coating on at least one of its major surfaces produced by flocking, applique, or textile weaving techniques, a preferred embodiment of the invention providing a strip having enhanced resistance to slippage of a coating appliqued to the strip and of a textile encapsulation of the strip in directions laterally and longitudinally of the strip.
