Abstract
A donor element for thermal transfer comprising a support having on one side thereof a fluorescent derivative of a 1,8-naphthalimide compound dispersed in a polymeric binder, and on the other side thereof a slipping layer comprising a lubricant. In a preferred embodiment, the compound has the formula: ##STR1## wherein: R is hydrogen; a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group of 1 to about 6 carbon atoms; or a carbocyclic or heterocyclic ring of about 5 to about 10 atoms; and PA1 D is a monovalent, nonionic, nonquenching moiety.
