Abstract

An electrically conductive medium or high density lignocellulose particle board useful in the manufacture of flooring, wall paneling, and furniture functioning to establish static-free environments for the manufacture and operation of microcomputers and related equipment and protection from static electrical discharge problems generally. The particle boards comprise dry-formed, hot-consolidated mixtures of ______________________________________ finely divided, electrically conductive carbon particles 0.2-5 particle board adhesive 1.5-15 lignocellulosic particles balance ______________________________________ In this composition the carbon particles are characterized by having specific surface areas of at least 20 square meters per gram. The lignocellulose particles comprise lignocellulose chips and flakes having width to length ratios within the range of from 1--1 to 1-20, and lignocellulose strands having width to length ratios within the range of from 1--1 to 1-40 and minimum widths of one millimeter.
