The cross-country ski binding is provided with two pins (3, 4) which are arranged with their corresponding rigid pin recesses (5, 6) one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the ski; at least one pin is spring-loaded in a perpendicular direction to the ski by a spring element (2) in the form of a binding arm. In this way, the design is maintained flat and the spring travel is long and spring fore can be optimally adjusted. Insertion of the foot in the binding is also facilitated and the stability of the ski boot (9) around its vertical axis is good and the binding grips without and play. With this design numerous advantageous embodiments of the biding are possible.
