Abstract
An aluminum base alloy having a composition selected from: PA1 (i) PA2 Cr 1.5% to 7.0% by weight PA2 Zr 0.5% to 2.5% by weight PA2 Mn 0.25% to 4.0% by weight PA2 Al remainder including normal impurities, and PA1 (ii) 7000 series Al alloys containing as added constituents: PA2 Cr 0.5% to 3.0% by weight PA2 Zr 0.5% to 2.5% by weight PA2 Mn 0.1% to 2.0% by weight.
