Abstract

Disclosed is a silver halide photographic material having at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a support and containing, in the silver halide emulsion layer or in any other hydrophilic colloid layer, a coating aid of a general formula (I): EQU A--O--X--(B).sub.n --SO.sub.3 M (I) wherein PA0 X represents --(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.a --(C.sub.3 H.sub.6 O).sub.b --; PA0 a represents 0 or from 1 to 50 on the average; PA0 b represents from 1 to 5 on the average; PA0 A represents an alkyl or alkenyl group having from 8 to 25 carbon atoms, or an aryl group; PA0 B represents a divalent linking group; PA0 n represents 0 or 1; and PA0 M represents a cation. Because of the incorporation of the coating aid, the coating compositions can be uniformly coated on the support with neither comet nor repelling. The photographic light-sensitive material therefore does not stain the photographic material, the processing solution and the rollers during the processing of the material, and, additionally, the material is free from static marks by static electricity.
