Abstract
Compounds of the general formula (II): ##STR1## and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and in-vivo hydrolysable esters thereof, in which PA1 R denotes a hydrogen atom or an in vivo hydrolysable acyl group; PA1 and the wavy line denotes either the E- or Z-isometric position, are novel compounds which exhibit .beta.-lactamase inhibitory action and have antibacterial properties.
