Abstract

Nitrification inhibitors contain azole hemiaminal derivatives of the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each hydrogen, alkyl, aryl or halogen, R.sup.3 is alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkoxy, alkenyl, alkynyl, styryl, aryl, hetaryl or aralkyl, where the aromatic radical may be substituted, or is hydroxyl, A and B are each N or CR.sup.4, and R.sup.4 is hydrogen, alkyl, aryl or halogen.
