Abstract

A device for producing cold between +10.degree. C. and -40.degree. C., particularly in transport vehicles comprises at least one reactor (R), a condenser (C), a gas collector (Co) and an evaporator (E). The following simultaneous reactions are produced in the reactor (R): ##EQU1## the symbols < >; [ ] and ( ) denoting the solid, liquid and gaseous states respectively, X being chosen from ZnCl.sub.2, CuSO.sub.4, CuCl, LiBr, LiCl, ZnSO.sub.4, SrCl.sub.2, MnCl.sub.2, FeCl.sub.2, MgCl.sub.2, CaCl.sub.2, and NiCl.sub.2, m and n being numbers such that: ##EQU2##
