Abstract

Water-soluble monoazo compounds according to the general formula (1) below having valuable fiber-reactive dyestuff properties which dye carboxamido- and/or hydroxy-containing materials, in particular cellulose fibers, in fast yellow to orange hues. ##STR1## in which the symbols denote: M is hydrogen or an alkali metal, PA1 R.sup.1 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, chlorine, bromine, carboxy or sulfo, PA1 R.sup.2 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, chlorine, or bromine, PA1 R is carboxy or lower carbalkoxy, PA1 n is the number zero or 1, PA1 X and Y independently of each other are each .beta.-thiosulfatoethyl or .beta.-sulfatoethyl or vinyl, however, in the case of X and/or Y being equal to vinyl the index n must be 1.
