Abstract

The invention relates to new anthracycline derivatives having cytostatic activity and the general formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a CH.sub.3 (CH.sub.2).sub.n group with n=0 to 3, PA0 R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, PA0 R.sup.3 is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or an acyl protective group, and PA0 R.sup.4 is a hydrogen atom or an acyl protective group, and which are optionally in the form of a salt of an inorganic or organic acid, to a process for their preparation and to their use in pharmaceuticals.
